Smudging releases energy that no longer serves us.

On Sunday, March 5, Melita McCully performed a smudging ceremony to clarify the energy in and around congregants, the church building, the office building and Fellowship Hall, and the grounds outside both buildings. Smudging, an ancient Native American practice using smoke caused by burning sage and sweetgrasses, sends away energy that no longer serves us and allows us to attract positive energy. This ceremony was performed as part of our Creating our Future process, which began with the HOPCOF workshop and will continue with March 12’s town hall meeting. Melita was assisted in the smudging process by Joe Bedard and Leah Magestro. The pictures below show parts of the smudging activity.
