Unity Eastern Region Annual Conference - September 2018

Reported by Darla L. Henry, Board Member, Eastern Region.

I had the honor to attend Unity Eastern Region's annual conference in late September, held in Charlottesville, VA. The host church was Unity of Charlottesville; Don and Patricia Gulino Lansky are co-ministers.

From start to finish, we were immersed in excellent discussions, fellowship and wonderful music.  Marianne Williamson challenged us to allow God to dream through us to heal the soul of America. She left us with, “miracles come from love. We cannot love what we are ambivalent about.”

In keeping with the theme of awakening our authentic selves, Dr. Karmen Smith did a series of workshops on F.E.A.R (From Ego Altering Reality) and embracing love and compassion in living the “I AM” solution.

Two interactive workshops, Transforming Unconsciousness Biases to Build Inclusive Spiritual Communities and Healthy Boundaries and Ethics, created intensive discussions.

The conference was highlighted by a mid-week evening service at Unity of Charlottesville where the congregation and musicians treated us to a wonderful, contemplative experience of “Mystical Union” followed by amazing desserts!

Looking ahead to the 2019 conference, the setting will be at a shore retreat, so start planning for a spiritual get away that will refresh your soul and connect you to fellow Unity spirits.
